The duo, “Moonshine Mile,” was born in Boston, USA and Flensburg, Germany after award-winning Singer-Songwriter, Jay Ottaway, and keyboard virtuoso, Christopher “Earl” Town, spent years together on the road criss-crossing Europe with the Jay Ottaway Band. The duo is simply the inevitable outcome of their shared love for traditional American Roots music. In the summer of 2017, Jay and Chris played their first duo concert to great acclaim. It was then it was clear the magic of the songs, most of which Ottaway had written, could shine in an intimate duo formation. It was to be the last concert for a long time before fate led them back together on stage in the summer of 2021. As the magic of playing together had never faded, they did not hesitate to take it a step further – thus, “Moonshine Mile” was born. Music best enjoyed in clubs and intimate venues by fans of Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, The Band, The Allman Brothers, and Black Crowes or anyone who wants to be taken on a musical journey into the land of Folk, Country, Blues and Rock.

Das Duo „Moonshine Mile“  ist gleichermaßen in Boston und Flensburg geboren: nach einer langen gemeinsamen Zeit in der Jay Ottaway Band, die den preisgekrönten Songwriter Jay Ottaway (Boston) zusammen mit Sänger und Pianist Chris “Earl“ Town (u.a. Flensburg) quer durch Europa führte, findet deren tiefe Liebe zu amerikanischer Rootsmusik in einem aufs Wesentliche ausgerichteten Duo eine Fortsetzung. Im Sommer 2017 spielten Ottaway und Town erstmals ein Duokonzert, das auf viel positive Resonanz stieß und beiden die Gewissheit gab, dass sich die Magie der Songs auch im Duo entfalten konnte – beide eint ein fast blindes Verständnis und eine Intuition für die Musik. Dieses Konzert sollte das letzte für einige Jahre sein, bevor sich im Sommer 2021 wieder die Gelegenheit ergab, wieder gemeinsam auf der Bühne zu stehen. Diesmal ergriffen sie die Gelegenheit beim Schopf und es entstand „Moonshine Mile“ – eine akustische Reise zweier Freunde zwischen Folk, Country, Blues und Rock, für Fans von Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, The Band, Allman Brothers und Black Crowes sowie alle Menschen, die gern ein Konzert als Reise von starken und berührenden Songs erleben wollen.
